Pastor Message

A note and welcome from Pastor Polly Williams:

Welcome to the website of a wonderful congregation in Terrell, Texas. We are
Presbyterian from the word, “presbuteros” meaning, “elder” which is a leader, called by GOD with gifts, talents, reasons and ways every person in our faith family is a gift from GOD. (See Ephesians 4) though even in Moses’ time, his father in law reminded him of the need each has for those around us. We serve, we live, we worship together and would love to welcome you.

“Rejoice in the LORD always. I will say it, again, “Rejoice!” – Philippians 4:4

Opening the pages of Scripture, especially the letters of Paul in the New Testament, I love that Paul gives thanks for the people in those churches. His gratitude is to GOD. The greeting and the thanksgiving are in CHRIST’s name. We who know and believe in Jesus Christ as LORD and Savior are called to give thanks, to remember we are precious in Christ’s sight and to welcome one another in love.

No matter if I’m in the beautiful sacred sanctuary with natural ETX light coming in some of the most beautiful windows I have ever seen in my life, or if I hear the laughter, the conversation, the reading of Scripture or the film being played to take Scripture’s lessons and truths into serious consideration from our Sunday School hour, if I’m walking through the hall past the classrooms from our school during the week, the faces of the souls who are the faith family of First Presbyterian in Terrell are warm and welcoming. I am so thankful for every single soul.

Our greeting card ministry, the variety of musical talent in worship, the good food and fun games and the outreach we do, remind me the spirit of GOD’s love in Jesus Christ is alive in our campus and in our people. Join us. We already give thanks for you and have no doubt you are precious in Christ’s sight.
